Holobionter is the result of 10+ years of research and development. It combines the latest in sensor technologies, deep learning algorithms and innovative sampling techniques.

Holobionter identifies the VOC Profiles* as 'fingerprints' of your health conditions by measuring and analysing gas emissions of your body. The biomarker information released by the skin, breath or intestines has the same roots as the quantities measured in blood tests.

Holobionter combines proprietary AI based deep sensing* algorithms and an array of novel nano-sensors for VOC measurement and pattern recognition - VOC Profiling. Holobionter technology mimics your olfactory (smelling) system. All this as a full-borne, real-time IoT device.

Holobionter concept has been created during a decade of R&D that includes a chain of testing and validation cycles, In piloting, different health states, such as Diabetes Mellitus (DM), were targeted and used for characterizing the performance of prototype devices.

The Holobionter Platform is built as a generic VOC Profiler to be tailored for applications in different health state categories/ health care market segments. Holobionter's real-time measurement and analysis allows it to be used as a screening device or for monitoring possible changes in health conditions.
The commonly used diagnosis tools are frequently lacking, overly expensive or inaccessible for an average user. Modern medicine has identified the biological mechanisms driving the changes in a number of health conditions, and has identified the metabolic pathways their signature biomarkers follow. Holobionter identifies the VOC Profiles of these biomarkers.
Holobionter identifies the VOC Profiles of different health states as their biomarker 'fingerprints'. Its technology mimics the way we use our noses - our olfactory (smell) system. The registered VOC Profiles are created as the end results of the metabolic pathways followed by the biomarker compounds that are catalyzed by the changes in our health conditions. In this, the VOC Profiles contain similar disease-specific information as the quantities measured in a typical blood test. For VOC Profiling, Holobionter non-invasively samples gas emissions form skin, breath or intestines (the human volatilome).
The sensing elements (receptors) of our olfactory (smell) system are multispectral, i.e. they have sensitivity to most gas molecule types. - Holobionter mimics this in its sensor array design, where each sensor has slightly different response selectivity and specificity toward the sampled VOC gases. In combination with the Holobionter's signal processing electronics and its proprietary AI based Deep Sensing* analytics, the VOC Profiles - specific to the target health states - are identified.
During the 60 second periods of blood circulation throughout our bodies, the chemical compounds indicative of different health states (biomarkers) are transferred from blood to VOC emissions in breath (through the alveolar process). Through blood ciculation, the biomarker VOCs also appear in gas emissions of skin and intestines. The Holobionter samples, measures and anlyses the VOC emissions for monitoring changes in your health condition and for screening for possible early signs of diseases. Holobionter test is non-invasive and convenient (only samples of gas exhaled, or emitted are needed). The analyzer operates in real time, and the end resut is available immediately after the sampling period of a few tens of seconds.
The Holobionter allows screening of personal health states and diseases in a convenient, non-invasive manner. The secured results are available to the user in real time at low cost. The Holobionter is rapidly trained and validated for different target pathologies. It is a break-through device in applications targeted to well-being and preventive health care market.
